Coach John Paul Young to Present Keynote at CTE Scholarship Luncheon

HOUSTON - April 24, 2012 - Coach John Paul Young will be the keynote speaker at the Spring ISD Career and Technology Education Advisory Board Scholarship Luncheon, Fundraiser and Auction, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 30 at the Hilton Houston North Hotel.

Coaching has been a life-long vocation for Young who spent 42 years coaching high school, college and professional football. He is well-known among football players and coaches for his achievements both on and off the field. Young spent 20 years in professional football as defensive coordinator, linebacker coach, defensive line coach, and special teams coordinator for the Houston Oilers, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears.

Coach Young currently serves as co-founder and director of the National Athletic Combine and the Angelo Football Clinic - the nation’s longest-running football coaches’ clinic - now in its 39th year. In addition, Young was elected to the Big Country Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.

The advisory board is seeking the support of community members and businesses that would make a commitment to attend the event or contribute a donation to the scholarship fund. Tables that seat ten are available for a tax-deductible donation in increments of $300, $500 or $1,500 and individual seating is available also for $30 each.
