While the tax office is closed as set forth above, payment can be made in many different ways, as follows:
For your convenience there is a payment drop box located in the front of the building; any payments in the box when the tax office re-opens in January will be given a posting date for the month of December and a receipt will be promptly mailed;
Payment can also be made via telephone by credit card or e-check; please refer to the instructions on the back of your bill;
Payment can be made online by credit card or e-check, please refer to the instructions on the back of your bill; In addition payment can be made though the U.S. Postal service; any payment bearing a post mark by the date of December 31st will be accepted as a December payment and a receipt will be mailed if requested. |

Deadline to make application for many types of total exemptions. Homestead and disabled veteran exemptions may be applied for up to one year after the taxes for the year of application become delinquent (usually February 1). Over-65 or disability homestead applications may be filed as soon as the applicant becomes 65 or meets the Social Security requirements for total disability, whichever is applicable. |

| Payment options for Seniors and Disabled Taxpayers: |
If you are at least 65 years of age or disabled you may make payments in four installments without accruing penalty and interest if the first payment is paid before the delinquency date of February 1, 2010. You must apply for both the homestead and over-65 or disabled person exemptions at your county appraisal district. Seniors and disabled taxpayers should also be aware that they may defer or postpone payment of the taxes on their homestead property. Application is made through the appraisal district or we can assist you in person if you visit the tax office. |
