Spring ISD Education Foundation
1-seal-2.jpg
The Spring Independent School District Education Foundation was established in 1993 to benefit the students and teachers of the District. This non-profit
(501c(3)) organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is a collaborative effort that includes local business, community, and educational leaders.

The mission of the Education Foundation is to provide financial support to those areas that demonstrate a commitment toward enhancing the academic mission-of-excellence in our District. We accomplish this by directly supporting new and innovative academic programs that are otherwise not funded through traditional sources. We also provide financial support to the ongoing professional development of our teachers and staff so they can continue to improve themselves and the quality of education for all students.
Spring ISD Education Foundation Mission Statement
The mission of the Spring ISD Education Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to the Spring Independent School District to enhance the quality of education.

The Foundation will achieve its Mission by directing resources toward the following GOALS:

1. Fund creative and innovative approaches to education.

2. Support the district’s Five-Year Educational Plan and Campus Improvement Plans.

3. Provide opportunities for students and staff personnel to work toward their highest potential.

4. Build community awareness for the Spring ISD Education Foundation.

5. Inspire parents and community to participate with the school district in enriching education.
Some of the Foundation’s programs include:
Grants for Teachers
These grants support innovative classroom projects, proposed by teachers, for which traditional funding is not available. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $731,254 in grants to Spring ISD teachers.
Academic Recognition Banquet
This annual event honors the top five percent of the graduating students of Spring High School and Westfield High School. These students in turn, honor the teacher that had the greatest influence on them during their school years in SISD. Presentations of the Spring Way Scholarships are also an exciting addition to the event. To date, the Foundation has awarded $154,000 in scholarships to Spring ISD students.
Golf Tournament
This annual golf tournament increases the community awareness of our Educational Foundation and generates revenue to help fulfill our budgetary goals for grants, staff development, the Academic Recognition Banquet, and the endowment fund.
Endowment
This fund was established to ensure that the Education Foundation become self-perpetuating and, through prudent investment, could provide a source of funds for more significant grants or activities, approved by the Foundation.
