Nutrition and Variety Offered for a Minimal Price
Nutrition, value and variety are three words that describe the breakfast and lunch fare offered at Spring ISD schools. Breakfast and lunch meals are offered daily on every campus to all students.

Elementary students may choose from several entrees at each meal service in addition to nutritious a la carte drinks and snacks.

Secondary schools offer eight or more entrées daily in addition to numerous a la carte choices found on all of the serving lines and kiosks.

Fresh fruits, reduced fat items, and whole grains are offered daily at all schools. Breakfast and lunch prices for 2009-2010 are the same as last year - 90 cents for an elementary breakfast and $1 for a secondary breakfast; and $1.50 for an elementary lunch and $1.75 for a secondary lunch. Larger meals are available in the secondary schools for $2 or more.

Parents may pack a lunch for their child’s consumption only.
Free and Reduced Price Meals
Students will be provided an application at the beginning of the school year for participation in the free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch program. Applications are available at each school and on the internet throughout the year. The Child Nutrition Department will accept applications during new student registration at a table near the front of each elementary school. (See the pull-out calendar for new student registrations dates.) Eligibility is based on federally established income and household size guidelines. All students have meal accounts and pin numbers which must be entered for every transaction whether paid, reduced or free. Student eligibility is kept confidential.

Until applications are processed, parents will need to give their children money to purchase school meals at the prices listed above.

Please allow 10 working days for eligibility determination. Pre-payments for all meals are encouraged.
Online Payment Option Available for Meals
Child Nutrition Department will continue to use PayPAMS (Parent Account Management System), an online payment option that allows parents to use the Internet to pay for their child’s lunch and breakfast 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parents can make payments and view their child’s account balance and payment history by registering at PayPams or by calling 1-888-994-5100.

Registration for PayPams accounts for the 2009-2010 school year begins on August 19th. Meals may still be pre-paid for by depositing money into student accounts by using cash.
