The high school is named after Andy Dekaney, a former Board of Trustees member who was first elected in 1987. During his years on the board, Mr. Dekaney served six years as president, three as vice president and two as secretary. In addition, he was a member of the Spring ISD Education Foundation Board and volunteered his time and energy to school activities including Westfield’s Project Prom and the Band Booster Club. Dekaney High School opened in August of 2007.
