Hello, my name is Ana Mendoza and I will be serving as the At-Risk Counselor for the
2022-2023 school year. I am a mother of 3 wonderful young men. I have a Bachelor in
Interdisciplinary Studies in Education from The University of Houston and a Master's
Degree in School Counseling from Lamar University. I have been in education for over
25 years and have worked in middle and elementary schools.
As the At-Risk School Counselor, I hope to provide a wide variety of services to meet
your children’s academic, social, and emotional needs. I serve as an advocate for all
students by putting supports in place to help them reach their highest potential.

The services I provide include:

 Backpack Buddy 
 Consultation with Parents and Staff
 School-Wide Events such as Red Ribbon Week and Coffee with the Counselors 
 Short-term Individual Counseling
 Small Group Counseling 
 Referrals to Community and/or Mental Health Resources 

I look forward to a great school year at Joan Link Elementary School and I am very
excited about the opportunity to work together with all of the students, faculty, staff, and
administration.
