Thompson Elementary School

Mrs. Swanesa Egland was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Spring ISD

schools. After graduating from Westfield High School, she went on to the

University of Houston and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business

Administration with a concentration in Finance.  Egland graduated from Our

Lady of the Lake University with a Masters of Business Administration. In

order to enhance her educational background, she went on to Lamar

University to receive her Principal Certification.

 Egland started her career in education about 10 years ago.  It began at

Claughton Middle School as an ELA teacher. Egland continued her career at

Thompson Elementary where she was the Student Support Services

Specialist for the past 5 years. In 2024, Egland joined Timberwolf Nation as

the Assistant Principal. She is excited about serving the community in a

different capacity!

 Mrs. Egland enjoys spending time with her husband, she met at Wells Middle

School, Nathaniel, her two sons, Alijah and Isaiah and her daughter, Aniyah.

Mrs. Egland also loves sports, helping others, and spending time with her

family. She is excited to work with Thompson’s faculty and families to help all

students reach their full potential by providing a safe learning environment and

strong instruction.
