Mrs. Erica Clement

A little bit about me...

I am a proud graduate from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Science. My passion resides in working with and teaching children at the primary level. I have 4 children of my own and cherish every minute with them.

I began my education experience here at Major Elementary August of 2013. I was a classroom teacher for many of those years. I am now the campus Student Support Specialist helping to serve our At Risk and RtI students as well as supporting teachers to address any behavior or academic concerns. Ms. Christine Hurley, M. Ed.

This is my seventeenth year in Spring ISD. I have taught English Language Arts and Social Studies and served as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator and Parent Engagement Liaison. Currently, I serve as the Campus Academic Specialist.  I am a resident of the district and the proud parent of three children, all of whom are graduates of Spring ISD. I have served the district as a community and parent representative during the years my children attended Spring ISD. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with General Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language certifications and a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration with Principal Certification.

My goal is to foster student growth and achievement through modeling, coaching, and providing feedback to teachers in effective implementation of instructional strategies and best practices.

Mrs. Theresa Johnson-Manos

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Theresa Johnson-Manos. I am privileged and honored to be a part of our Helen Major campus and community. I have served in Spring ISD for 16 years, previously 13 years as a classroom teacher in grades 1-3.  Currently, 3 years  serve as a dedicated and experienced Instructional Specialist for PreK-2nd Grade.  My expertise lies in curriculum design, teacher training, and the integration of technology into educational practices. I love collaborating with teachers to analyze student data and develop targeted interventions for students requiring additional support. 

While I am not at work, I enjoy working out, watching football games, and spending time/traveling with my husband. I have two adult sons, both are products of Spring ISD and 1 granddaughter.

I believe in focusing on improving teaching practices and enhancing student learning. I firmly believe in the vision of Spring ISD and I am dedicated to the restless pursuit of student success.

Riles

Mrs. Rachel Spiller Riles, M.Ed.

I am a proud Spring ISD educator with 24 years of educational experience, including 3 years as a Dean of Instruction and 8 years as an Assistant Principal. Currently, I serve as an Instructional Math Specialist, helping 3rd-5th grade teachers and students close learning gaps and increase student achievement in mathematics. I am passionate about providing professional development, empowering educators with data-driven strategies, and fostering success in the classroom through hands-on learning. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction.

In addition to my work in education, I’m also an author, having written children's books, educational materials, and health and wellness self-help books.

I enjoy singing, traveling, and spending quality time with my husband of 42 years, my children and grandchildren.

Swinburne

Ms. Alyce Swinburne

Hi, my name is Alyce Swinburne. I have my Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Houston Downtown. This will be my 15th year in education. I've taught kindergarten to 2nd grade language arts. I spent most of my teaching career in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Last year I was an Early Literacy Interventionist at Hirsch Elementary here in Spring ISD. I'm looking forward to being the Language Arts Instructional Specialist here at Major Elementary. I also have many other years in other forms of education before I started teaching. My goal this year is to help other educators with their instructional practices in order to see success with their students. 

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and adorable yet crazy dog Hammy. I love to travel, do photography, fish, swim, watch sports, try out new restaurants, tell funny life stories, and do adventurous things like parasailing.
