    What Mental Health Services Does SUN Behavioral Offer?

    Here at SUN Behavioral Health Houston, we offer many services in order to best serve you and our community. We understand that women are more proportionally affected by mental health, so we offer specific services to help women recover from trauma. We also offer services geared specifically toward adolescents who’re struggling with their mental health. 

    Our programs include inpatient and outpatient services, traditional counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders, and even telehealth options for ease of access at home. If you’re unsure which program might be best for you, we’re happy to help discuss your options to find out which route you should take on your journey to mental wellness. 

    SUN combines an experienced and knowledgeable staff with industry-leading best practices to give every patient a path to recovery and wellness. Our mental health programs are designed to help patients experiencing any of the following:

    • Depression, hopelessness

    • Thoughts or actions of self-harm

    • Decreased ability (or inability) to function and complete activities of daily living

    • Mood swings

    • Anxiety, persistent worry, panic attacks

    • Auditory or visual hallucinations (hearing or seeing things that aren’t there) or delusional thinking

  • Memorial Hermann Mental Health Crisis Clinic

    Memorial Hermann Mental Health Crisis Clinic is not designed to provide continuous outpatient follow-up for mental health needs. The Memorial Hermann Mental Health Crisis Clinic will assist with finding out­patient follow-up by helping patients make an appointment for follow-up with an outpatient provider or by providing patients with resources and referrals. 

    •    Memorial Hermann Mental Health Crisis Clinic is a walk-in clinic. Patients are served on a "first come, first served" basis.
    •    Memorial Hermann Mental Health Crisis Clinic hours vary. Please call the Mental Health Crisis Clinic for hours of operation. Hours are posted outside of the clinic.
    •    The patient's visit time typically ranges from 2 to 2 ½ hours. Length of visit depends on the patient's current situation and social service needs.
    •    A patient may be seen by a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Mental Health Physician Assistant, or a Psychiatrist. The visit with the provider may be in person or via telemedicine.
    •    Narcotics, stimulants and benzodiazepines are not prescribed at these facilities.
    •    Substance abuse is not treated at the clinic. Information on referral resources for chemical dependency treatment is available.

  • Woodland Springs Hospital (Spanish)

    Atención a paciente internado
    A partir de los 13 años en adelante
    Según sus síntomas, es posible que se beneficie más del
    tratamiento de salud mental o adicciones en un régimen de

    internamiento. Los pacientes reciben atención médica super-
    visada las 24 horas del día, junto con terapias respaldadas por

    evidencia, actividades holísticas y manejo de medicamentos
    diseñado para lograr la estabilización necesaria antes de
    avanzar al siguiente nivel de cuidado.
    El programa de pacientes internos para adolescentes de
    Woodland Springs también ofrece atención supervisada
    las 24 horas del día y tratamiento respaldado por evidencia
    para adolescentes con trastornos psiquiátricos, adicciones y

    trastornos concurrentes. Los hombres y mujeres se encuen-
    tran en unidades separadas y seguras, pero se reúnen para

    sesiones regulares de terapia grupal.
