Student Loan Forgiveness

In certain situations, you can have your federal student loan forgiven, canceled, or discharged.

Forgiveness, cancellation, or discharge of your Federal Loan means that you are no longer required to repay some or all of your loan. To learn more about Federal Student Loan forgiveness programs available to Texas public education employees, please visit the Texas Education Agency website/Texas Educators/Educator Initiatives/Student Loan Forgiveness for Teachers or the US Department of Education/Federal Student Aid website.

Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness

  • If you are eligible, fill out the Teacher Loan Forgiveness application on the Federal Student Aid website.
