PVA Student Checklist For College Readiness
Dedicate yourself to mastering fine arts skills at a level that is globally competitive. This is best achieved by enrolling in a rigorous fine arts program of study and remaining in that academic pathway through graduation.
Starting as early as the 6th grade, create a digital portfolio of collected artifacts from your fine arts performances and showcases (i.e. programs, pictures, videos, et. al.). Continue to add artifacts each year and show a progression of your skills.
During the Spring semester of your junior year, inquire to make sure you are on track to successfully complete all graduation requirements on time. Also, the College Board recommends taking your first SAT at this time, as this will give you time to retake the SAT one or more times, if needed.

In the Fall semester of your senior year, one of the most important steps students and their families can take to pay for college is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, which typically opens October 1st. Collegiate performing arts programs typically hold auditions in the Fall semester of your senior year. Make sure you check with the institution for the exact date, meet all submission deadlines, and adequately prepare for your audition.
