SISD World Language Rubrics
The Interpretive Mode is the most important mode of the three. It is through reading and listening that students will aquire language; therefore, without it acquisition of a language can not exist. This rubric will help students and parents understand how they will be graded in the world language classroom.
The Interpersonal Mode is needed when acquiring another language because it puts into practice the skills that are acquired. It is the conversation piece between two individuals, which is holistic and is unrehearsed.
Presentational Mode Rubric (Writing)
The Presentational Mode is the least commonly used mode in the real world; therefore, there is less emphasis place on it in the world language classroom. The Presentational Writing Rubric will help students and parents understand what is expected when completing a Presentational Writing task.
Presentational Mode Rubric (Speaking)
This mode is the least commonly used in the real world; therefore, we expect our stduents will not be doing many presentations to the class. What we expect to see are students practicing together memorized or well-rehearsed information to help them build their vocabulary and pronunciation. This rubric will help students and parents to understand how they will be graded when doing a presentational speaking task.
